Welcome to the sixth International CAA Conference to be held at Loughborough University. The Book of Proceedings sees 30 high quality double blind refereed papers. Content varies from academic research, evaluations, implementations, case studies, and guidance regarding recent standards and accessibility documentation.
I have elected to run 40 minute paper presentations in three themed parallel streams throughout the event. This will offer excellent choice, as well as the opportunity for in-depth questions, and should be a rewarding experience for both presenters and delegates.
This year we have attracted a large number of Commercial Sponsors offering CAA related products and solutions. This helps me to keep costs as low as possible, as well as maintain our reputation for excellent entertainment during the evening. A number of Commercial attendees are presenting in our first ever Commercial Stream on day one. All Commercial Sponsor logos are included in this book for reference. For those of you attending the event do look out for our Commercial trade stands.
The contents of this book demonstrate the on-going development and maturity in the field of CAA research and application, and a number of important areas are represented. The external evaluator of the National CAA Centre is reporting and I include this as the Day One Keynote. Day Two sees a Keynote for the first time, and this outlines a computer adaptive testing application for English Language. Both these contributions received full marks from the review panel and I recommend them to you.
I would like to thank the panel of reviewers for their contribution to creating such a varied and interesting Programme. As interest for the delegate the institutions involved this year were:
I do hope you benefit from the Programme, the facilities, the networking opportunities, and as ever the evening entertainment.
Welcome to the Conference. Enjoy the event.
